OUR MISSION
To empower the strong spirits of young women through wilderness trips and lifelong community
STRONG-SPIRITED WOMEN
Ogichi Daa Kwe is a one-of-a-kind wilderness camp for girls in northern Minnesota offering countless opportunities for personal growth through challenging canoeing and backpacking trips and engaging in-camp activities. Undistracted by technology, unburdened by social pressures and encouraged by passionate role models, the young women who come to Ogichi Daa Kwe discover a stronger version of themselves.
Healthy Lifestyle
At Ogichi, a healthy lifestyle is assured: summer days filled with physical activity, restful nights in rustic cabins, and mealtimes that are as engaging as they are nourishing. All meals are made from scratch and feature fresh produce, lean meats and organic dairy products—with vegetarian options available.
Engaging Activities
From crafts and climbing to sailing and songwriting, Ogichi offers a wide variety of instructional classes during three activity periods each day. Campers make their own schedule and decide how to spend their time. In the absence of awards, personal gratification comes from finding success, overcoming failure, teaching a useful technique, or mastering a lifelong passion.
Wilderness AdventureS
Through Ogichi’s wilderness trips program, first-time campers become wide-eyed adventurers seeking new rivers to paddle and new ranges to traverse. Trips are tailored to age and experience, from a gentle three-day introduction to canoeing in Voyageurs National Park to longer trips in Ontario, Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
Spectacular Campus
Designed and built from the ground up, Ogichi Daa Kwe’s campus can only be described as spectacular. Cozy cabins and open-air activity buildings ring the shoreline, while the majestic Great Lodge looks out over a protected cove for swimming and water sports. From almost every corner of the campsite, sunrise views instill gratitude for the promise of a new day.
